If you like LucasArts point and click adventures, you need to play this.Even though it is completely missing the verb system, something I often miss in other new games, I have not missed it here. I really like how the developer has done this in 4:3 and actual Large Pixel Resolution\u2122, staying true to the classics. Speaking of those, there's quite a lot of nods and references "hidden" in the game. I would never have expected such a stunning voice cast in a game this cheap. The mix between Iron Age and 2074 is just right. It took me about 4 hours to get through it.I hope the developer will do another one. It will be worth the wait.. This is exactly like the games I fell in love back then when Point & Click-Adventures were a big thing in the 90s. A wonderful and beautifully crafted little pixel styled world, interesting and wacky characters and a neat story. I instantly got reminded of Simon The Sorcerer. Just don't expect many difficult puzzles. But the story and the interesting world make it worth the journey.. I first got excited about this game through screen shots and well crafted trailers. It is an absolutely beautiful game to look at and had the charm and charisma of Amiga titles I use to play in the 90s such as Settlers and SImon the Sorcerer. A unique element that I have not come across before is that the game also has an arc set in the future- which is also really well done, with cyber punk vibes and graphics that got me thinking about the old snatcher game.Unlike some point and click adventures the puzzles in this one are not too challenging. This opens the game up nicely for young children to play. it is first a foremost a story based game experience.Ignore my playtime- its more like 4-5 hours of gameplay. The game is so charming and peaceful that I would often get a cup of tea and leave it running so that I could enjoy the soundtrack and visuals.I always judge games like this by how I feel when I am not playing them. Do I want to get back to the world as quickly as possible and carry on the story or do I find it a chore. In this case it was certainly the former- recommended. Must buy if you are a fan of old school click and point adventure games. Really captures what made the genre so special back in the day. Can't recommend enough for fans of monkey island, broken sword, discworld, full throttle, grim fandango, etc.. Simply amazing ! Love the atmosphere, the music, the caracters... for those who loved the old good classic point and click games... and for the new ones !. I really enjoyed the playthrough of this game. For sure, it's not a AAA title, but consindering it's done with such a small team this is great quality and well worth the money. The graphic style is charming, the voice acting is good and the puzzels make sense.Well you could say they make maybe a bit to much sense, because the difficulty overall is what I would consider as easy. You 100% get what the trailer is suggesting: a charming old school point & click adventure with a solid story and likeable characters. I can absolutely recomend this game! Some light critique:- some screens are 99% pointless- the future part feels a bit rushed compared to the medival part. Guard Duty is an homage to the old school adventure games of the 90s, without any of the clunky mechanics and unfair puzzles of those games. If you liked "Sam and Max," or "Discworld," or "Tales of Monkey Island," then you'll probably enjoy Guard Duty.. What a cute adventure i loved it and very ncie retro graphic hehe took me around 4 hours so not too short!
